The 2026 Chevy Corvette Gets a Three-Screen Interior Makeover. Is This Upgrade a Game Changer?

2026 Chevy Corvette: C8 improves cabin The newest version of the C8 introduces a wide range of changes that are significant for the mid-engine sports car but one area really needed extra attention: the interior. The C8 arrived as a ground breaker on all fronts, but the cab might have seemed busy and visually noisy and complicated in day-to-day use. Chevrolet has now delivered a way simpler, more refreshed cockpit that’s easier to operate but doesn’t lose the character of that driver-focused Sports Car ethos. Across the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X, that upgraded cabin features a three-screen digital arrangement, tangible new physical controls and a less congested centre-console, providing a far lighter and more seamless overall.

But the upgrades go far beyond technology, with Chevrolet also refining charging accessibility, passenger ergonomics, comfort, connectivity, performance displays and personalisation. The new 12.7-inch infotainment screen, 14.0-inch driver display and 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen interact with physical HVAC controls, a larger illuminated volume knob and a redesigned wireless charging pad. New colour themes, premium materials, Ultimate Suede, an asymmetrical Jet Black and Adrenaline Red interior, and an available electrochromic glass roof are optional. With the increased Performance App, updated Performance Data Recorder, PTM Pro and practical front and rear-cargo space, the 2026 Corvette proves how Chevrolet has made the C8 a more complete daily supercar.

1. The 2026 Corvette Gets a Cleaner and More Refined Cabin

Corvette Tweak Will Make 2026 C8 Feel Much Easier Chevrolet made some serious interior changes to its flagship sportscar with the Corvette Z06 that launched in 2023 and the new refinements coming for the 2026 model will make Corvette enthusiast’s lives much easier. Chevrolet has taken a bold leap with the C8’s performance and styling, but the new coupe’s interior was a little overwhelming and confusing. Not any more though, as Chevrolet has taken a step back and refined the new cockpit to be look lighter, feel more open, and present itself more logically to the driver on a daily basis.

2026 Corvette Interior Improvements:

Cleaner and lighter cockpit
Shared across entire lineup
Improved ergonomic layout
GM Y2 platform continues
Bowling Green assembly continues

The new layout aims to go a long way towards banishing the confusion of the old while keeping the driver’s cockpit feel. Unlike the addition of screens for the sake of screens, Chevrolet has also rearranged and simplified the controls and eased off on some of the clutter that made the original C8 interior look and feel a little on the confusing side but not to the point of ruining the appeal of the cockpit feel. It creates a cockpit that feels more practical, more intentional and, crucially, more intuitive. This will help it function better on the daily grind without breaking the Corvette DNA, from the recast layout of the screens to the upgraded HVAC controls and centre console.

2. The Three-Screen Layout Modernises the Corvette Cockpit

The interior overhaul for the 2026 Corvette is highlighted by an all-new three-screen digital interface. The previous version of the centre-mounted infotainment touchscreen was one of the pieces of the previous interior that made it seem dated, as it was smaller, lower resolution and still had a lot of unused space around it. Chevrolet has provided a bigger (12.7-inch diagonal), centre-mounted computer screen with the touch-sensitive interface angled toward the driver, occupying the same shelf as the lower receiver and still providing lots of bright colours and quick responses. Chevrolet has retained a physical volume knob on the centre-screen display and for 2026 has provided a larger knob with a luminous base that can be seen at night.

Three-Screen Corvette Setup:

12.7-inch central infotainment
14.0-inch driver display
6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen
Larger illuminated volume knob
Clearer digital graphics

To the left of the centre stack an enlarged 14.0-inch-diagonal driver information centre and instrument panel ensures clean speedo, tach, and secondary gauge graphics, easily viewable during Tour, Sport and Track configurations. The third display is a stand-alone 6.6-inch-diagonal auxiliary touchscreen display located far left of the steering wheel. This customizable display offers Driver Information including trip mileage and engine output, as well as the ability to change Performance Traction Management modes. Fixed menu shortcuts along the bottom provide fast access to lane keep assist and engine stop/start without distracting drivers from the road ahead.

3. Chevrolet Fixes the C8’s Controversial Climate Controls

Chevrolet has also rethought one of the most divisive aspects of the original C8 interior: the long row of climate controls sitting along the ridge of the centre console. While the unique design of the controls made a statement, it could also be fiddly, visually cluttered and detracted from the feeling of the driver and passenger being seated close to each other. Chevrolet has taken to the 2026 C8 with a more conventional approach, relocating the primary climate controls directly below the centre-of-dash air vent.

Climate Control Redesign:

Central button spine removed
HVAC controls moved
Physical fan controls retained
Temperature controls remain physical
Seat functions move touchscreen

Switches for the seat heating and ventilation are now contained within the touchscreen menu, but the main HVAC functions still have traditional toggle switches. The temperature and fan speed buttons are one-click controls, requiring individual presses to both increase and decrease the temperature and blower speed. Short of replacing the toggle switches with two-click buttons, which would have freed up space for physical seat controls, that seems like a perfectly reasonable way to organize those controls. Plus, it retains a far more open feel than before, and more space for Chevrolet to shift the centre console on the basis of the new cockpit organization.

4. The Centre Console Gains Better Charging and Storage

Removing the row of climate-control buttons atop the centre stack has given Chevrolet a little extra room to redo the centre console. The larger drive-mode switch wheel from the last generation has been replaced with a new switch in the form of a toggle that sits behind the gear-shift buttons. That has freed up space underneath the infotainment display, prompting Chevrolet to install a new wireless smartphone charger in the centre of the console. It features a cover that closes over the charging surface and a rubber lip to keep the phone from sliding off, but this location is very much more hand-accessible than before.

Centre Console Changes:

New wireless charging pad
Drive selector wheel replaced
Protective charging cover
Rubbery phone-retaining lip
Improved device accessibility

The new front charging position is a big improvement on the previous, way-back charger position, which was tucked far behind the driver between the seatbacks. That old location was a bit of a stretch to get to though the phone is still on hand for other device charging but the new front position is right there with easier access. Further rearward, the redesigned cupholders remove the previous fold-over cover flap and expose the openings with a better spacing.

5. The Passenger Side Gets More Space and Better Ergonomics

Chevrolet also decided to get rid of the display of climate-control buttons on the center console in order to allow designers to rethink the passenger side of the Corvette cabin. Engineers cut a small opening through the form that structures the entire center stack of the cockpit and put a small grab handle as part of the infotainment bezel. This creates a triangle of space and a pathway that allows light to pass through and makes the entire cockpit more open and easier to live in over the long haul. Directly underneath the new passenger grab handle, a passenger-focused USB-C port takes the heavy lifting out of charging your device during a long drive.

Passenger Cabin Improvements:

Integrated passenger grab handle
New negative-space opening
More light enters cabin
Dedicated passenger USB-C
Improved visual openness

Despite these additions, the passenger experience remains clearly secondary to the driver’s environment. The controls, touchscreens and dashboard contours are still aggressively angled towards the driver, creating a cockpit designed around command and control. Passengers must still reach across the central console divide to place a drink in the cupholders or adjust their own side of the climate controls. Chevrolet’s decision is intentional because the Corvette prioritises the person behind the wheel above all else. The redesigned passenger area therefore does not attempt to create equal control access. Instead, it makes the passenger side more comfortable and visually open while maintaining the highly driver-focused layout that defines the C8’s cabin.

6. Comfort Remains Strong Despite Limited Rear Visibility

4 The 2026 corvette also retains a comfortable enough environment for a performance car. For some who may want to sit lower, the seats can be adjusted and slid forward to bring them a bit higher to see farther over the front bonnet. Even seat height adjustment, which on its own is a boon, is provided, with the height adjustment lever allowing shorter drivers and passengers to lift the seat high enough to see over the long front bonnet, and the long doors make ingress and egress easy. In a mid-engine sports car that’s a real boon for long-distance cruises.

Corvette Comfort and Visibility:

Supportive side bolstering
Relaxed long-distance cruising
Adjustable seat height
Expansive forward visibility
Limited rearward visibility

Chevrolet has still had to find a way to make up for the lack of seeing out of the back of the camera, though, and that comes with this digital rearview camera mirror system. The camera feed is displayed on the back of the rearview mirror glass and shows a clear wide-angle view that includes no blind spots due to the back of the car. It’s most valuable at night when the glass separating the back seat of the passenger car and the hot engine bay is very reflective, and instead of making the driver look through that reflection, they can see exactly out of the back of the car through the camera.

7. Google Built-In Brings More Connected Technology

”The custom infotainment platform features Google Built-in services, including integrated Google Maps navigation, Google Assistant voice-activated controls, and the Google Play store built into the large, high-def display. Use Google Assistant voice controls to activate the vehicle’s climate control, set destinations, send and receive texts, make calls, or open apps within the vehicle. Front- and rear-seat passengers can also access other Google Assistant-compatible entertainment apps like HBO Max, Prime Video, Google Chrome and Game Snacks while the Corvette is parked. It’s a new, immersive technology ecosystem that goes beyond the normal infotainment experience for the new display.”

Connected Corvette Technology:

Google Maps navigation
Google Assistant voice control
Google Play access
Parked passenger entertainment
Voice-controlled vehicle functions

If you like to bring your personal smartphone, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto now are standard and connect when you get in. Also standard, OnStar Connectivity connected services that include added peace of mind and assistance as well as destination download. And performance upgrades mean new Performance Data Recorder (PDR) capabilities, available on Z51 and Z06 models, with an updated user interface and HD video capture with side-by-side compare views, speed-trace compare plots, automated speed tips and instant, display-optimized speed-trace displays on the centre screen. This helps maximize the Corvette technology’s established links to both street and track driving.

8. The Performance App Expands Across the Corvette Lineup

The built-in Performance App has been made available for all 2026 models after initially being limited to the hybrid E-Ray model. For this model it’s now available on all variants alongside live power and torque output gauges, timed acceleration runs with customizable speed ranges, a new G-force gauge that can monitor historic limits of performance as well as tyre pressures and temperature in real-time. A gauge showing propulsion system vitals displays real-time oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temperature and transmission fluid temperature data, while the E-Ray has an AWD gage showing front-axle output and state of charge.

Performance App Features:

Live power and torque
Custom acceleration timers
Historical G-force tracking
Live tyre temperature
Propulsion system vitals

Drivers can view these telemetry readouts through the 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen or move specific gauges to the main driver instrument cluster when using Tour and Sport modes. Chevrolet has also introduced PTM Pro, a new driver-aid mode available across all Corvette variants. PTM Pro completely disables electronic stability control and traction control while retaining anti-lock brakes and E-Ray front-axle management controls. This gives expert drivers greater manual authority over vehicle dynamics. E-Ray variants retain their specialised electric driving modes as well. Stealth mode allows battery-only front-wheel drive up to 45 mph before the V8 automatically starts, while Shuttle mode keeps the car in low-speed electric operation for moving around storage facilities or race paddocks without starting the engine.

9. New Colours and Materials Make the Cabin More Personal

The 2026 Corvette boasts a wide range of interior trim materials, colour schemes and trimmings. 3LZ trim levels are available with quilted leather seating, carbon-fibre accents, genuine aluminium finish cupholder trim and the addition of a carbon-fibre overlay for the driver’s instrument cluster display. Chevrolet also offers the brand’s first asymmetrical interior as an option, with Jet Black and Adrenaline Red applied to every surface in the centre dash, centre console and seats. This trim combination has a striking colour split and breaks up the space in front of the driver, giving owners a much greater variety of cabin styles.

New Corvette Interior Choices:

First asymmetrical interior option
Jet Black and Adrenaline Red
Santorini Blue colourway
Very Dark Atmosphere combination
Ultimate Suede package

Across the 2026 models there are four additional interior colour options a bright, electric Santorini Blue, Very Dark Atmosphere which pairs a dark chocolate brown interior with Jet Black and Natural Tan, Sky Cool which combines a Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents, and Ultimate Suede which features Jet Black suede over the entire cabin with contrast stitching in a colour of choice and matching seatbelts in either Adrenaline Red, Santorini Blue or Competition Yellow. Further colour choices are offered at trim level 1LT and 1LZ models feature Mulan leather with Performance Textile, 2LT and 2LZ feature Natural leather, two-tone Napa leather and sueded microfiber, and 3LT and 3LZ feature Napa leathers, Dipped colourways, Ultimate Suede and bespoke two-tone stitching.

10. New Options and Practicality Complete the 2026 Corvette

The 2026 Corvette gains several new options that make ownership even more satisfying. An electrochromic glass roof panel can alternate between full, medium, and low tint with the push of a button. Track dog buyers can specify the ZR1 with the ZTK package, which gets 10-piston front and six-piston rear callipers clamping on carbon-ceramic discs, according to Chevrolet, the largest brakes ever offered on a Corvette. In addition to the new interior nuances, there’s now Blade Silver Metallic and Roswell Green Metallic paint, an Edge Red/Carbon Flash centre stripe that’s asymmetrical, blue brake callipers, and body colour rocker panels on the E-Ray.

Final Corvette Highlights:

Electrochromic glass roof
Largest production Corvette brakes
New exterior paint colours
Front and rear trunks
Removable targa roof storage

Practicality is still among the C8’s strengths as the car has both front and rear trunks, which much more packaging convenience than most mid-engine supercars offer. The E-Ray has a small decrease in front-trunk volume that would be largely imperceptible in daily driving. The removable targa roof section can be stored in the rear trunk but takes up space that can fit a couple of small pieces of luggage.
