Beneath the skin, the Shark fits the 1.5 liter turbo gas engine to generate electricity only for its 29.6 kWh battery to run two electric motors for 430 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque faster off the line to 60 mph than a Toyota Tacoma hybrid and Ford Ranger Tremor during our testing giving it some 60 miles of electric range and some 522 miles of total range. The lack of a traditional 4×4 system relying on its rear drive plus electrically supplied front wheels and Mexico City’s nearly craterous, bone jarring streets did surprisingly little to disrupt its composure.
